What is high potential and gifted education?

High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.

We do this through:

At The Henry Lawson High School, our classrooms are designed to nurture and challenge high potential and gifted students through differentiated teaching and enriched learning experiences. Within the school, educators tailor lessons to extend critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, ensuring that all students are engaged at an appropriate level of challenge.

Raise Your Voice & Lions Public Speaking: Developing communication skills and self-confidence by participating in local, national, and international speaking competitions.
Bean Hall Café: Providing a real-world environment where students can learn and perfect barista skills, customer service, and business operations.
Hospitality Studies: Offering practical experience for students to build, refine, and demonstrate their skills by catering for various school and community events.
Sporting Programs: Promoting physical health, teamwork, and leadership through a wide range of competitive and recreational sports.
Leadership Opportunities: Encouraging students to take on leadership roles through our Student Representative Council, where they can develop governance skills and make a positive impact within the school community.
